Senior Business Development Officer

Role Purpose:

This role is responsible for accelerating Own Brand growth by identifying, evaluating, and onboarding the right distributor partners to rapidly expand into markets where we currently have no presence, while also scaling performance in newly entered markets—always with the goal of delivering quality products and experiences that put a smile on customers’ faces. Leveraging deep distributor and route‑to‑market expertise, the role will lead market prioritization, partner selection, commercial negotiation, and go‑to‑market execution, ensuring speed, scalability, and sustainable economics.

A typical day in this Role: 

  • Lead end‑to‑end distributor expansion for Own Brand, including market prioritization, distributor identification, evaluation, and appointment, guided by customer needs and O+O (Offline + Online) market potential.
  • Drive growth and scale‑up in newly entered markets through effective distributor activation and ongoing performance management, ensuring strong execution across both offline retail and online channels to deliver consistent customer experiences.
  • Structure and lead commercial negotiations, including distributor agreements aligned with sustainable margin, growth objectives, and long‑term customer value.
  • Ensure distributor compliance with brand standards, pricing architecture, promotional guidelines, and reporting requirements, protecting brand integrity and delivering a clear, consistent customer proposition.
  • Coordinate go‑to‑market readiness across product assortment, pricing, and launch timelines, collaborating cross‑functionally to ensure seamless market entry and execution excellence.
  • Work closely with brand, supply chain, finance, and legal teams as one team to ensure operational readiness, smooth launches, and scalable market operations—reinforcing collaboration as our way of working.
  • Analyse sales performance, market data, and distributor reports to identify growth opportunities, assess effectiveness, and define data‑driven, actionable improvement plans for continuous optimisation.

Success will depend on:

  • Academic Background in Business, Marketing, or related discipline
  • Work experience in FMCG / Beauty, with hands‑on distributor management experience
  • Strong understanding of route‑to‑market economics, pricing structures, and distributor operating models (direct import, sub‑distribution, hybrid)
  • Commercial acumen in negotiation, deal structuring, and performance‑based partnership management
  • Practical knowledge of regulatory, product registration, and import requirements across multiple markets
  • Experience in Excel and PPT
  • Good command in written and spoken English and Mandarin
