Assistant Product Development Manager - Healthcare

Role Purpose:
Responsible for the Own Brand Product Development, working in close cooperation with different internal and external parties to drive profitable participation of Own Brands in Healthcare Category in Asia and Eastern Europe.

A typical day in this Role: 

  • To assist the line manager in collaboration with the Watsons International OB Marketing team and BU Own Brand specialists to identify a continuous stream of commercially valuable new products.
  • To manage all projects for responsible categories across key development stages, from supplier liaison and cost management to post-launch evaluation.
  • To lead category management for assigned categories, optimizing assortment, pricing, and merchandising to drive sales and profitability.
  • To identify customer needs and product development opportunities within assigned categories.
  • To collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute brand and category plans effectively.
  • To support ad-hoc product development projects and key forum meetings.

Success will depend on:  

  • Academic Background in any discipline.
  • Work experience in FMCG / Healthcare (incl. Food & Beverage) experience - Ideally H&B / Retail experience. Knowledge of OEM product development would be an advantage.
  • Good Project Management Skills – with a proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Good Category and Brand Management skills – with a proven ability and strong analytical skills to drive portfolio growth and optimise commercial performance.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to manage day-to-day issues independently.
  • Proactive team player, capable of taking on board and integrating other perspectives.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese.
  • Candidate with less working experience can be considered as Senior Product Development Specialist
