Role Purpose:

As Application Manager is to lead a team of IT professionals and to work closely with the Senior Manager and Business Units (International Buying) to deliver and support application systems that meet with the business expectations and technology blueprint.  

A typical day in this Role: 

  • Oversee and ensure System specifications correctly reflect business requirements and delivers business benefits
  • Oversee and ensure System development is completed and migrated into production according to the agreed time frame
  • Oversee and ensure Systems developed have good performance and fulfill user requirements
  • Oversee and ensure System issues are handled within SLA
  • Oversee and ensure System integrity is maintained
  • Prioritize, plan, and allocate work to team members or concerned parties to ensure the below accountabilities are met
    Gather and analyze user requirements
  • Analyze issues in IT systems and provide timely solution
  • Produce functional specification and technical documentation
  • Build and test the IT systems/ solution
  • Support production migration, operation and problem resolution
  • Work closely with internal Business and IT stakeholders and with external IT vendors to ensure the work are properly delivered
  • Provide timely status reporting and risk assessment to IT management
  • Production system support may occurs during non-office hours

What we look for:

  • University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines
  • At least 10 years of experience in system development, production system support, and issue management
  • Understanding of system development life-cycle and methodology and production support process
  • Good analysis, problem solving, and technical writing skills
  • Solid experience leading teams and managing project deliveries
  • Work experience in supply chain, procurement, and BI disciplines is an advantage
  • Practical knowledge of technologies including relational database, BI reporting and ETL tools, web and mobile applications, workflow systems, database administration and performance tuning
  • Good communication and coordination skills and team working spirit
  • Agility and willing to learn
  • Fluency in English and Cantonese
