Creative Designer

Role Purpose:

This role supports the creative development of Watsons Own Brand social assets, POSM, and display guidelines, working closely with the Exclusive Brand Marketing team and Store Design Development (SDD) to bring Watsons Own Brand activations to life in stores. Through consistent brand expression and seamless O+O customer communication, the role helps create engaging, enjoyable experiences—always with the goal of putting a smile on customers’ faces.


A typical day in this Role: 

1. Social & Digital Content Creation

  • Design engaging, customer‑centric brand and product content for digital and social channels to strengthen Own Brand storytelling and campaign messages across O+O (Offline + Online) touchpoints.
  • Leverage Adobe Creative Suite and Gen AI tools to accelerate mock‑up creation, image variations, and layout exploration, applying data and performance insights to guide creative optimisation before final refinement.
  • Collaborate closely with Exclusive Brand Marketing to ensure creative execution aligns with brand strategy, content objectives, claims, tone, and voice—always with the customer experience at the core.

2. POSM & Display Guidelines

  • Support the development of Own Brand POSM toolkits and display guidelines for new product launches (e.g. shelf strips, wobblers, headers, gondola ends, floor stands), enhancing in‑store visibility and shopper engagement.
  • Translate brand and campaign briefs into clear, insight‑led POSM solutions that define placement, messaging hierarchy, and usage by store type and fixtures, ensuring seamless O+O customer communication.
  • Prepare visual mock‑ups and practical POSM layout boards to help Business Units and stores clearly understand execution standards and deliver consistent brand experiences.

3. Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work collaboratively with Exclusive Brand Marketing and Store Design Development (SDD) to understand business priorities and convert them into practical, scalable POSM and display guidelines.
  • Support implementation reviews by analysing store photos, feedback, and execution data, identifying gaps versus guidelines and proposing data‑driven improvements for future rollout waves.
  • Champion collaboration as a way of working, sharing learnings and best practices to continuously improve execution quality and customer impact.

  • You are performance-driven with a passion for design and retail, keen to see your creatives brought to life and improve based on results and feedback.
  • Academic background in Design, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, or related field.
  • Experience in POSM design, or graphic/creative design; experience with FMCG, beauty, or retail brands is an advantage.
  • Solid skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign a plus); native in Gen AI creative tools (e.g.
  • Midjourney, Firefly, ChatGPT or similar) is a strong advantage.
  • Good communication skills and comfort working with multiple stakeholders and markets.
  • Organized, detail-minded and proactive
